CheffiRecipes (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. What we collect

We aim to collect the minimum necessary to run the app.

2.1 Data you provide

Recipe content & favourites: recipes you view/save, notes, tags, favourites.
Support messages: when you email us or contact support.

2.2 Data from your device (app functionality)

Device & app info: app version, OS version, language/region, device model.
Diagnostics (optional): crash logs and performance metrics to help us fix issues.

2.3 Permissions (only if you use these features)

Photos/Library: to let you attach or save images for recipes.
Camera: to capture photos for recipes.
Notifications: to send cooking timers or updates you opt into.

You can change permissions anytime in iOS Settings ▸ Privacy.

We do not collect precise location and we do not track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

3. How we use your data

Provide and improve the app: load recipes, manage favourites, ensure features work as expected.
Diagnostics and analytics: find crashes/performance issues and improve stability.
Support and safety: respond to your requests; detect/prevent abuse.

No selling of personal data. No targeted third-party advertising.

4. Legal bases (if you are in the EEA/UK)

Contract: to provide the app you asked us to deliver.
Legitimate interests: app security, diagnostics, basic analytics.
Consent: for optional permissions (camera, photos, notifications).

6. Data storage, transfers & retention

Where: Data may be processed in Australia and other locations where our providers operate. If transferred internationally, we use appropriate safeguards.
How long: We keep your data only as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business/legal purposes.
- Recipe/favourite data: retained until you delete it or remove the app’s local data.
- Diagnostics/crash logs: typically up to 12 months (shorter if feasible).

You can request deletion (see Rights below).

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g., Australia’s Privacy Act, EU/UK GDPR, California CCPA/CPRA), you may have rights to:

Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate data.
Delete data (subject to legal obligations).
Object or restrict certain processing.
Data portability in some cases.

8. Children’s privacy

CheffiRecipes is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your region). We don’t knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, contact us to delete it.

9. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to keep risks low (e.g., limited access, encryption in transit, least-privilege for service accounts).

Tracking: We do not use tracking to link your data across third-party apps/websites.

11. Third-party services

We do not use third-party analytics or advertising services in the app. The app is distributed via Apple’s App Store (and Google Play for Android, if applicable); those platforms may process limited metadata necessary for distribution under their own terms.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. If changes are material, we’ll notify you in-app or by other reasonable means. The “Last updated” date shows the latest revision.
